Well I currently have US Cellular and I see that the LG tritan is available.  I just renewed my contract and went with all the hype and got a blackberry 8330 Curve but am thinking I might switch to the Tritan due to the fact the browser on the blackberry is ultimate FAIL!  So can you view any URL with the browser or just the ones that show up when you click on browser?  Could I view like Ebay.com or say LG-Tritan.com?  and how do the pages look?  Is it a mobile version of the website or is it just how it looks here?  Thanks for any help!

OH YEA, and also, can you link up your EMail account to these also?  I have a GMail account that I would like to link to it.  Is it possible?

I've only had a Tritan for a few days, so I'm still learning what it can and can't do.  You can set up Mobile Mail to access your Gmail account, but I haven't found a way to view/download attachments.  You have to go through the EasyEdge page, but it's pretty easy to create a shortcut in the Widgets page.

I am very disappointed that it won't stream audio from Pandora and hope that I can find a streaming audio site that works with this phone.  Otherwise, I may return it before the end of the 30 day trial period and go with something else.

I have a BlackBerry at work that is pretty clunky, but it handles attachments and audio much better.

Looking forward to tips from other users and hope that application improvements will make this the phone for me.

Not sure about *any* webpage, since some web sites detect a mobile browser and send that version (e.g. cnn.com).

Other sites, like Pandora, just show a solid blue screen.

I'm not a web programmer, but wonder if it has something to do with Java or Flash encoding on those sites where it doesn't work.

The local US Cellular store is very good about letting people use the phones to browse, send text, and make calls so you can get a feel for each model.  They also have a 30 day, no cancellation penalty so if you don't like it, you aren't stuck with it for 2 years.

(I have no connection to USCC, just a customer).

Good luck.

Yea, I am a customer also and I have until the 25th of August with the BB Curve.  But im thinking about giving this a shot.  Any idea if the 30 days starts over when you try a new phone?

I doubt it.  It seems like they made a point that I could do a one time return or exchange within 30 days.  Otherwise, someone could go through every phone in their store before the contract expired.

I have a Curve for work and it's OK.  There are advantages/disadvantages to each.

Seems like there are more apps and web-friendly features on the Curve, but I prefer the look, feel, and interface of the Tritan - and in time there will likely be more apps for the Tritan as well.

Ugh, I just dont know what to do.  Im having some data/roaming issues right now with the curve.  They have numerous tickets in with verizon wireless and still havent heard anything back yet, so they are not sure if its just my phone or what.  Just thinking I might try the tritan instead.

Maybe it is your phone.  I've never had any problems like that with my Curve and I've had it for about a year.

The only performance issue I have noticed is that when I am in a US Cellular home area, the Internet browser is much faster (EV-DO) than when I am roaming (1X).  But it's not enough to be a big deal since neither phone nor network type are really all that speedy.

Well I live in minneapolis now and it will work for like 2 minutes, then stop working and I have to reset connections on it to get it to work for another 2 minutes.  THey have numerous tickets in with verizon and they claim it should work fine up here.  Its been going on for a week and a half now so its getting down to the point where they should just send a new phone and try that.

My Tritan goes to every website I have tried, no problem.
I set it up for my Yahoo mail account, no problem, except you can't view attachments.
You can't right click to save anything, but no big deal for me.
I like it.

I have the BB curve from Alltel, and I been having problems where phone calls don't go through goes straight to my voicemail, and stupid things like that. Constantly taking out the battery and putting it back in, clearing the memory and all that fun stuff like calling *228 #1 than recalling #2....

I just purchased the LG tritan and waiting for it to be delivered.

---
I am going to college for web design, and alot of sites are not mobile ready, meaning they are not compatible with the mobile phones. But, alot like e-bay and such, you can still view on the mobile phone. There's also from yahoo... m.yahoo.com  and sites like that are made just for web browsers on the phone.

On the curve, try and go to options and go to page view....  column view just makes everything compressed into that small little screen... if you go to page view than you have the choice to see it all, and if you want to zoom in you are able to.

When searching for stuff for the LG Tritan seems there's not alot out there for it,.. Just like when I had my Q9c, there wasn't nearly as much as the BB Curve's and Pearls...

I hope to really enjoy the Tritan and it wasn't a waste of $$! Wink

I have the Tritan and I can say that I have tried this thing out on every URL site that I have to have for work, college, and just for fun!! So far I have found that #1 of course it does not support Flash very good.... sites that have to have a high level of flash to operate.. like gaming sites and etc. your more than likely not going to get! As far as government sites.... if they are federally protected, good luck because most of the time you need to be able to accept security cookies and so far my Tritan has not been able to... but other than that! Any HTML site that doesnt require a lot of Java or Flash I have had success with.... Also if you are a college student and have to log into the BlackBoard system.... which is what most colleges use!! You cannot do so from the VCCS Portal... you have to go in through the actual HTML site!! If you need help with that, you can message me on here or reply to this and I will try and get to you and help!!!

Your Gmail account will be really easy to set up with this phone.  And the browser works great on just about every site that I've tried so far
