Is there anyway to just connect them install the modem and drag pictures or audio into the tritan or vice versa?

Yep, use the usb cord it came with, when it is connected select mass storage device on the phone.
Go into "my computer" on your pc and find it in devices w/removable storage.

i plugged my phone in to my laptop and i have no idea what to do next i did all the steps it said in the manual but it just said pc is connected and i dont know what to do next?

I recently purchased a rocket fish blue tooth adapter, zero issues w/transferring files, not as fast as usb, but it doesn't freeze anymore.
