Use your Tritan as a modem.
These instructions are for US cellular, not sure about Alltel.
Make sure your data plan includes it.
Took this from another forum, tried it, works awesome!
Use your charger usb cable.

What if your plan does not include this?  The US Cellular rep told me you can't use the Tritan as a modem.  Can I just do it anyway?

You can use it as a modem, I have.
Upon review of my latest bill, there were no additional charges for data use from using it as a modem.

Trying to run the software and it says it may not be compatible with Windows XP and I should stop installation.  Do you have XP?  Does it still work?

For alltel you dont even need a user or pass but you can use your # @alltel.com

I didn't change any settings just plugged in my phone installed the drivers and setup a dialup connection with the #777 number no user or pass and it worked perfectly fine with 1mb speeds here and i get crappy signal in my apt. usually only one bar......

Tritan is still considered a Smartphone although it is actually a hybrid.... From what the Alltel rep told me you have to have a data plan with "any" smartphone.... If you have an unlimited data plan they will not know you are tethering.... Trust me I ahve been doing it for a looooong time.... Hell when I frist moved I didn't have net so I tethered to play WOW.

I just did this and it works good. My phone says"Data Call" and shows the minutes am on the internet. Can someone tell me if this will block incoming calls and if this uses my calling minutes? I do have an unlimited internet plan with my phone.

Thanks

incoming calls will disconnect your internet session, and no as long as you are using the 777 and it says "Data Call" you are using your unlimited data and not min.
