I was having alot of trouble trying to figure out how to get my mp3s set as a ringtone since I could never find them in my audios. Instead I tried using myxer.com to create my own which worked but they sounded terrible if sent as a message. Simple solution is to create a ringtone using that site save it to your computer change the file extension from an mp3 to a qcp when you check your audios it will be there and all you have to do is save it to your phone and the quality will be excellent.
